The Musician

Elliott Jeter is the founder and owner of E. Jeter Music. He has over 15 years of experience performing live music at various events, including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and other special events. His primary instrument is the piano, but he also plays other instruments. 

How It All Started

Elliott’s music career started at the young age of 5. The first instrument he learned to play was the drums. After learning to play the drums, he used his talent to play music at his home church (Galilee Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC). As Elliott became more skilled at playing drums, he also had his mind set on learning to play another instrument…the piano.

Elliott took piano lessons under the teachings of Julius Camp (Camp’s School of Gospel Music). And just like Elliott’s grandmother and parents, his piano teacher noticed something special about Elliott as he learned to play the piano at a quick pace. He gained much knowledge from Mr. Camp which he has used to build upon.

Shortly after he began taking piano lessons, Elliott started playing the piano at church. As his piano playing improved, he began receiving requests to play at various events…weddings, business events, school events, etc. Elliott realized that his love for music continued to grow as he played music more and more. His passion for music grew so much that he didn’t want to stop with just being able to play drums and piano.

He used the knowledge he gained from taking piano lessons and began playing the piano at church. He even began receiving requests to play at various events…weddings, business events, school events, etc. Elliott realized that his love for music continued to grow as he played music more and more. In fact, his love for music grew so much that he didn’t want to stop with just being able to play drums and piano.

After playing the drums for a while, Elliott learned to play piano. His interest in the piano started with him playing on an old piano at his grandmother’s house. He would visit his grandmother, sit at the piano, and come up with different tunes by ear. Although he didn’t know which notes he was playing (as he was playing random notes), the music seemed to sound great to his grandmother as she would often encourage him to continue playing and would even hit a few dance moves.

With encouragement from his grandmother and his newfound love for the piano, Elliott decided to ask his parents about taking lessons. His parents had already noticed that he had a gift for playing the piano as they heard him playing tunes for his grandmother. After hearing him play at his grandmother’s house, they agreed (without any hesitation) to get him signed up for piano lessons.

With his ability to learn how to play instruments quickly, Elliott decided to teach himself to play more instruments, including the guitar and bass guitar along with many more instruments. He is often called a “one-man band” after hearing his response whenever someone asks which instruments he plays.

Elliott performs various music genres including Gospel, R&B, Smooth Jazz, Pop, Neo-Soul, and more.
